Mountains to Sea Wellington Trust is looking for a new volunteer Trustee to join our governance team.
We are a Wellington-based environmental organisation working across freshwater and marine conservation, community science and environmental education. Through our programmes and community initiatives, we connect people with their local waterways and coastlines and inspire a journey of regeneration.
We are looking for someone with practical experience and expertise to complement our existing governance team — particularly someone with a background in finance, commercial, fundraising or a related area.
Previous governance or board experience is useful, but it is not essential. We are looking for someone who can bring valuable skills and perspective to the Trust, alongside genuine enthusiasm for our kaupapa and the communities and environments we work with.
The Trustee role involves approximately 6-8 meetings per year, usually in the early evening, with a mix of in-person and online meetings.
Trustees provide governance, strategic oversight and support to the organisation while working alongside a capable executive team. It is a manageable volunteer commitment and an opportunity to contribute your skills to meaningful environmental and community outcomes across the Wellington region.

There is no need for a lengthy application at this stage. A conversation over coffee is a good place to start and find out whether the opportunity is the right fit.
